6th-plate Daguerreotype of unknown couple, ca. late 1840s-early 1850s
This is a most remarkable image. The woman is wearing a very rare bodice. It is trimmed with buttons, and laced around the buttons. The woman looks very young and innocent. I’m not sure if the photo is late 1840s or early 1850s. I’m inclined to think the latter, because of the hairstyle which looks more like 1850s. Also the more natural waistline and widening sleeves. But I might be mistaken… I love the fellow’s funny hairdo! There is another dress similar to this one in my other post here.
