two ladies knitting ~ 1850s-1860s

Albumen silver print from glass negative by Franz Antoine (Austrian, 1814–1882). Here Marie Antoine is wearing the same lush dress as in this photo. I love the trim on the dress, the striped decorations. And her handbag is lovely. Would she keep her knitting wear in there?
