Albumen silver print from glass negative by Franz Antoine (Austrian, 1814–1882)
I love Elise’s elaborate and rather ‘frilly’ dress. She wears the same dress on these photos here, here and here. Notice the beautiful lace under sleeves and lace collar. I would imagine a more youthful woman wearing a dress like that. She is a rather plain, an a bit of a severe beauty whereas her husband is quiet the dandy. There is another photo of him here.
