The very intriguing Easterly image purporting to be Lola Montez in a black veil was unfortunately misidentified. Anyone really familiar with Lola’s appearance can see that there’s no strong resemblance. The features are different, the long crimped hair, though dark, is different, and this woman had very dark eyes, where Lola’s were blue, which usually reads as very light in the orthochromatic images of the time. Now who the heck was this actually?
