Daguerreotype of (grand)mother and (grand)daugther, 1859
I wonder: is the lady on the photograph the child’s mother or her grandmother? I’m inclined to think the latter, but then again: women might have looked older much sooner in those days. But also they bore children much earlier. Mmmm…. it’s hard to say. What are your thoughts on the matter?
