9th-Plate Daguerreotype of Mother and hidden Child, ca. 1840s
This is an original rare ninth plate daguerreotype measuring approximately 2 1/2 x 2 inches behind glass in a larger full case. Original matte hid her daughter for an unknown reason, possibly because of her passing. A rare and highly collectible image.
