sixth-plate Daguerreotype of Unidentified woman by John Plumbe, Jr. ~ 1840s
Dainty and adorable young woman with purple and blue dress with lively pattern. Sixth-plate daguerreotype in a full case, with Plumbe’s stamp on the mat. The case is a typical Plumbe “vase of flowers” case. She has a lick curl at the side of her cheek and two neat long ringlets. Her brooch has been pricked and there are red spots on her bracelet.
