Lucia & Antonio Di Demetrio by Giuseppe Tominz, 1831
Husband and wife both originate from the Isola di Lemno. Antonio Di Demetrio and Lucia Gliki came to Trieste in 1821 after the Turkish invasion in Greece. They married in 1830 and had five children. This painting was made shortly after their marriage. Lucia was 25 years old and Antonio forty years old.
