freckled girls in floral print dresses ~ 1860s

Sixth-plate Ruby Glass Ambrotype of two young women ~ 1860s

Two graceful ladies, presumably sisters, pose with hands embraced in complementary long flowing print dresses. The dresses with Bishop sleeves and hairstyle are typical 1860s. They look very youthful, like teenagers. They both have freckles, more clearly visible with the girl on the right. They have similar cameo brooches. Note the lovely detail of the buttons that go all the way down the dress.
