Sixth Plate Daguerreotype Family portrait ~ 1850s
A pair of daguerreotypes that came together, in a double case, with matching mats and preservers. Each is sixth plate. Housed in a split double case, with black paper inside, indicating it was originally used for ambrotypes. We don’t know whether the original family changed the case, or if it was done by one of the previous owners.
